How long does it take you to do your makeup and hair before a show?
Brie: I kind of get ready in two parts. Before my sound check I flat iron my hair and apply a light base, that takes me about 45 minutes. Right before the show, I have a friend who is a professional make up artist and she does my stage make up for me, including some awesome glitter fake lashes. I usually run the flat iron through my hair again and so I spend about another 30 minutes getting ready.
Are there any makeup tricks you have learned that you can share with us?
Brie: I like to use a palate and brush for my foundation. You can buy them at any beauty supply store and I think your base goes on smoother. You also can clean your brushes with rubbing alcohol to keep bacteria from growing in your brushes. When you use sponges it's easy for bacteria to grow and cause breakouts. I also recommend using a highlighter under your eyes. I have always bought a more expensive brand and I just recently bought one at the drug store by Maybeline and it works just as good.
Do you express yourself through fashion similarly as to music?
Brie: Absolutely. I have a definite sense of style that is an expression of me. I think anyone who loves fashion is really expressing themselves, like art in some ways. I'm constantly expanding my ideas about fashion and hope to have some impact on the industry some day.
What advice can you give to young ladies regarding Beauty and Fashion?
Brie: I think you just have to be true to yourself. If you have a pair of pants that make you feel great, who cares what anyone else thinks. Your sense of style and beauty should be really about the things you love....If you flip through a magazine and see something that rocks your socks then try to find it in a store or make it out of something you already own....You will be truly representing who you are and I think everyone likes someone who has a clear sense of who they are.
